Due to this, Sherlock Holmes is the worst scenario in the Heroic Adventures box, but it is still good. The game shouldn’t tell you have to discard cards you don’t have IF you played correctly and every Unlock! game before this one has done so.īottom line, I enjoyed Unlock!: Heroic Adventures – Sherlock Holmes, I had an issue with it that I commented in spoilers tags and I wish the game were harder to beat. Due to this, we jumped over 2 cards and did nothing wrong, but I feel there is a design flaw here. In the forums, the designer said there were 2 ways to arrive to the same conclusion, which is very bad situation to have in an Unlock! game. The issue is that we deduced information legally from the information the game presented and that allowed us to reach a location, but the game’s intent was to reach that location some other way. After the adventure, I read BGG´s post and other people has had the same issue that I did. Ultimately, we decided to continue but the feeling wasn’t good. This is the first time, in all the Unlock! series, that the game tells me to discard a card I don’t have, so we took a long of time analyzing what we did wrong (lots of wasted time). There is a big issue for me with the adventure though.
